What did you do before T&S?

Before joining T&S, Tristan already had a diverse and rich background. He graduated with a master's degree in international relations in 2021, including five semesters spent in Germany. He also has significant experience working as a freelancer.

"I’ve been working as a freelancer since 2016 on various projects, mainly as a project manager and producer in the video game industry."

Why and how did you join T&S?

After a year of working full-time and freelancing and following the challenges of the pandemic, Tristan was ready for a new opportunity abroad to enhance his German skills and gain experience in a more structured company.

"One of my friends had just started a V.I.E. and suggested I create a profile on Business France. A few days later, I received a call from T&S where Aline introduced me to the company’s vision, which aligned perfectly with what I was looking for. The French-German roots, the flexibility, and the opportunities for career growth beyond the V.I.E. were exactly what I was looking for."

What were your goals when you first started at the company?

When he joined T&S, Tristan had clear goals in mind: improving his German and gaining his first experience in an international company.

"As a freelancer, I had to set up my own processes, but I felt I was missing a part of the experience that comes from working in a structured environment."

What was your first assignment? And what was the first thing you learned at T&S?

Tristan began his journey at T&S in the HR department where he focused on recruitment. This role allowed him to deepen his understanding of various positions and the workings of embedded systems.

"My entire background was in IT, not in engineering, so this experience helped me learn how to identify good candidates and conduct interviews. These skills are still useful to me today as a project manager when I support the recruitment for the projects I work on."

What are some of the things you're most proud of accomplishing at the company?

He takes pride in several achievements during his time with T&S in Hannover, particularly in helping to develop the Amazon account.

"I started with a small project as a TPM for a major client. We were successful in this test project and gradually built a team working on innovative R&D projects in machine learning and AI, which are crucial topics today. It's important for T&S to be involved in such projects is very important. Within a year, we established processes and scaled the team to 8 people. I’m especially proud of the team cohesion we have built. It’s rare to achieve great things alone, and it’s important to recognize the team you work with."

How did your career evolve?

Tristan began her journey at T&S in the HR department, gaining valuable insight into various engineering roles and learning more about embedded systems.

"I mainly supported recruitment for our projects and had the chance to work directly in an agency surrounded by engineers. It was a great opportunity to understand their day-to-day activities—not just during coffee breaks! After some time, I decided to return to project management, where I had prior experience. With the support of my manager and the TKAM in Hannover, I started on a small four-month project with two FTEs, which helped me learn the basics of being a technical project manager. I was involved from the very start, including project preparation, on what was a low-risk project with the potential to develop a key customer account for T&S."

The initial project turned into a clear success, leading to extensions and new activities focused on machine learning and AI topics he considers increasingly critical for the future.

"My recruitment background was a real asset allowing me to help find the right profiles for our projects while continuing to grow as a project manager. After nine months, the team expanded to eight people working across two major projects and I transitioned fully into a project manager role, overseeing multiple projects for two clients."

Even in his new role, he continues to draw on his HR experience.

"The knowledge I gained in HR helps me support the team and define recruitment pipelines with clients, making it easier to ramp up new team members."

And what are your personal goals for the future?

Looking ahead, he is excited to continue growing with T&S by balancing two key passions:

"On one side, being involved in projects with cutting-edge technologies like AI and machine learning, and on the other, contributing to recruitment and team ramp-up. I enjoy building things from scratch, so supporting the creation of project teams is especially important to me."

The internal mobility at T&S plays a key role in fostering personal and professional growth, offering team members the opportunity to explore diverse roles, develop new skills, and contribute to innovative projects across different areas of expertise.
