10 years of collaboration: loyalty rewarded

It all started in the small village of Ditzingen, Germany. It's a story about a prestigious car manufacturer that is developing a new vehicle platform. Active safety vs passive safety

Most of the other controller, like braking, steering or trajectory control are part of active safety. That means they are acting on the car while it’s moving to make it take a safe path. They are designed to prevent accidents to occur. Airbag is an element of passive safety. It is composed of the controllers charge of minimizing the injuries when unfortunately, an accident occurs.

The role of the airbag ECU

Most of the job of the airbag ECU is to anticipate the needs to be triggered. Moving element in front, beside or behind the car? Abnormal lateral acceleration? Less pressure in the tires? The airbag must be ready to save the day.

A long-term collaboration

T&S, through its test house, has been working in collaboration with the Bosch airbag department for more than 10 years. Yes, it is now 10 that T&S tests mechatronic components of the vehicle responsible for the survival of thousands of people around the globe. So, let’s have a look back in time, where we started.

Inside the test house

Imagine a complete building floor, the heat of the equipment, and more than 15 engineers running back and forth between the testing labs, the desks and the meetings rooms. Two project managers setting the pace, while the team was working nights and days to validate all components: reversible seat belt, crash pre-actuators, accelerometers, and other confidential features. T&S and Bosch had the chance to work for many prestigious EOM from all over the world during all this time: Germany of course, but also UK, Sweeden and China.

Trust and expertise

Over the past 10 years, trust between T&S and Bosch has continued to grow and develop. This trust is the result of a collaboration based on proximity, transparency and, above all, technical expertise. There are currently few competitors capable of supporting a customer with such expertise.

Looking to the future

And nothing, not even two complete changes of premises, a global pandemic or an automotive crisis, has been able to undermine this collaboration. This collaboration is set to continue for many years to come.
